Lights on the Horizon

(1 customer review)

‘Lights on the Horizon’ is a charity book, created in Ireland, by Irish poets, writers and photographers. All monies raised will go to our hard-working frontline healthcare staff in the HSE in Ireland, and the NHS in Northern Ireland.

It is a professionally produced, beautiful hardback coffee table book of poems, prose and photography, written during lockdown in 2020. Called ‘a triumph’, ‘stunning’, ‘a beautiful book to look at and to hold’, and ‘an enthusiastic, warming literary embrace’, one customer said about ‘Lights on the Horizon’: We owe [our frontline heroes] our support by buying this book.’

Featuring the themes of heroes and hope, ‘Lights on the Horizon’ is a perfect gift for lovers of the beautiful Irish countryside and its people, reflected in the poignant poetry, stories, dramatic monologues and fictional diary entries.

‘Lights on the Horizon’ is an ideal present:

  • for anyone who wants a beautiful keepsake of Ireland
  • for anyone looking for a unique gift for a friend or loved one
  • for anyone who has been affected by COVID-19, and wants to give something back to our healthcare workers or for anyone who has visited Ireland and wants to revisit its beauty and love of the written word.

In fact, we agree whole-heartedly with incoming president Joe Biden’s words that Irish poets are ‘the best in the world’.

Lights on the Horizon

‘Lights on the Horizon’ is a unique collection, written by 13 writers north and south of the Irish border during lockdown.

Author and playwright Andrew William Tinney’s vision was to create a literary time-capsule of stories and poetry, with all proceeds going to frontline workers.

When actor Jeremy Irons wrote a few lines in support of this collection, West-Cork-based publisher Niamh Cooper worked with Andrew to create a premium edition of the book, with photography from all around Ireland.

‘Lights on the Horizon’ is a limited edition all-Irish literary time-capsule for that hard-to-buy-for uncle or brother. It is a gift which is a little bit different – and it is the perfect present for that hero in your life.

‘Lights on the Horizon’ retails at €24.95 + P&P (roughly $30.30 + P&P).

written by Christopher McSweeney, Publishing Assistant, eThentique Ltd.

This year we are running a Christmas Campaign called #IveGotYours, starting the 15th of October 2021. The meaning behind #IveGotYours is that the book can be given as a gift to someone else, either a family member, a friend, a business associate or a healthcare worker. At the same time all proceeds of the gift are going to frontline workers.

We would like to use this campaign to reach our target of five hundred copies sold by the end of 2021.

This book was a perfect escape from the dullness of lockdown. It’s relaxing reading with a varied selection of stories and poems surrounded by beautiful photos.

It makes a perfect gift too which is always handy. We all want to acknowledge the great work of frontline health-workers and buy Irish. What better way than an attractive book for your coffee table? For Christmas I sent it to my cousin who wrote to tell me how much she loved it. It will be my go-to birthday gift over the coming months.
